Purpose
Fort
Worth FC is committed to building competitive soccer in the
Tarrant County area of the North Texas Metroplex. The goal
of the FWFC Academy program is simple: to accelerate the development
of players before they reach competitive soccer age. Though
we participate in leagues designed to accelerate player development,
we do not place emphasis on creating ultra-competitive environments.
The focus is on player development, not winning. At FWFC,
we believe there will be ample opportunity to focus on winning
when children develop individual skills at a much later age.

We
are fortunate to live in an area widely regarded as one of
the top soccer talent hotbeds in the country. Participation
in our academy program exposes your young soccer player to
game play with and against some of the most talented players
in your age group in the Metroplex. Academy players will have
the opportunity to participate in weekly skills sessions with
one of our top coaches. Additionally, for those who are interested,
players can participate as FWFC Academy players in Indoor
Soccer seasons, as well as in the
NTSSA
Premiere Academy League (PAL) or Super
Development League (SDL).
|
|
| The
Academy Program is not intended to replace recreational soccer
participation. Instead, the goal is to work side-by-side with
the local recreational soccer associations to help build a
stronger, more soccer savvy player by allowing the child to
be coached by among the most qualified skills coaches in the
area and participating on teams built to play the top competition
in the area. At FWFC, we believe soccer players develop faster
when they play with and against players at similar or slightly
better skills levels. For the advanced player, we find it
crucial for player development to be playing with and against
the best competition possible.
When
players participate in indoor soccer leagues via our Academy
program, seasons typically fall before or after the recreational
season completes. Participating in either the PAL or SDL usually
runs concurrent with the recreational soccer season, though
most, if not all, PAL and SDL games take place on Sundays.
Most PAL and SDL players also play recreational soccer simultaneously.
When there are conflicts between a PAL or SDL game and a recreational
game, recreational league play takes priority.
Fort
Worth FC Soccer Academy Philosophy
By
teaching as many field and individual tactics possible, to
develop players of all ages into becoming creative soccer
players both defensively and offensively, eventually progressing
to State, ODP, and National level soccer players.
