WELCOME TO FORT WORTH FC
With the end of the spring league season, I just want to note some great results for FWFC. Congratulations to FWFC 01 Girls Black and Coach Emma Cates! For winning Division 3 and getting promotion to Division 2 next fall! They have worked very hard from the summer through qualifiers and now winning promotion. They went 11 - 5 - 2! Only losing two games all year, so well done ladies! Well done also to FWFC 01 Boys White for finishing 6th in classic D1! The boys achieved the highest position in D1 for our club. They went 12 – 5 – 2 which was fantastic as they went through the whole spring season undefeated and only lost two games all year! We are now gearing up for State Cup, post season tournaments and June open sessions. It’s going to be an exciting summer! So don’t forget to make sure the players are hydrated for the hot weather that is coming!

Fort Worth FC says Good Bye to Coaches Emma and Vassar Cates!
I wanted to share some sad news and good news. Coaches Emma and Vassar Cates will be leaving our club. Emma has accepted a job as assistant coach at George Washington University in DC. An excellent D1 school! She will assist the soccer program in all aspects.

Personally it’s been a privilege to work with them both. Emma has been invaluable to the club both as a Director and as a coach for our girl’s teams. She has helped move the club forward with the college process, Panther Press, spirit wear, and our WPSL women's team. She has always worked with integrity, professionalism, and a good positive attitude. I know her 01s, 00s, and 98s will miss her dearly! These teams have improved tremendously since she took them on! She has been here since 2009.

Coach Vassar has been a trooper for our club and most of all a great friend to me! Helping the club to go to the next level! Vassar remembers what we used to be! He is one of the true originals at the club. He has worked for us since 2004 coaching our 95 Girls, 97 Girls, 99 Boys and 94 boys (Plus our 03s and 04s Academy teams). He was the first coach to qualify to D1 on the first weekend, with the 99 boys. We used to be team mates and now workmates. It will be hard not see him on the fields!

Vassar will not leave until the end of the month. Emma will leave right away to join her new college. With Emma and Vassar recently getting married I know it’s all been very hectic! Please join me in wishing them both “good luck” in the next chapter of their life together. Emma and Vassar we will miss you both and you will always be part of the Fort Worth FC Family!
